Paper to the Rescue

Around my house, it's not just the kids who tell me at the last minute they need a gift for a friend, supplies for school etc....hubby tends to do that too! But it's all good 'cause I've got paper, scissors and glue.  ;D  We paper crafters can work magic given a few crafty supplies. lol

Today I had fun making a card set to give as a retirement gift. One of my favorite crafting styles is "clean and simple". I have a pretty floral stamp set from Red Rubber Designs called Place in My Heart. Perfect for clean and simple cards.

I also used a very versatile sentiment set from Red Rubber Designs called Sophisticated Sentiments. I made a set of 6 cards which fit perfectly in these little clear plastic containers. I bought them ages ago from Gina K and they work great for card sets.

Just add a bow and there you go!  ;D

It's Been So Long!

It's been awhile since my last post! So busy with family, end of school activities and all the rest of everyday life... I've missed my little Wordbird's Nest blog.

A card challenge is always a good way to jump back into some craftiness. Flourishes Timeless Tuesday was the one that I decided to make cards for today. A simple challenge to use a butterfly. I have two new Flourishes stamp sets that have been waiting to be inked up. Today they finally got that ink.  ;D

I used the flowers from the Summer Blossoms stamp set and the tiny hello from the Old Fashioned Florals set. The pretty Spellbinders frame is from Flourishes as well. I love the lovely pierced pattern and shape of this  die cut frame!

I played with the same layout but changed up the frames and embellishment. This butterfly die  is from Spellbinders.

It sure felt good to get my fingers inky again after all these weeks!

Happy Easter!!

Just popping in to say Happy Easter!! It's been a busy, fun spring break week. Day trips to the Gulf Breeze Zoo, Pensacola Beach, Krul Lake and other great places around town. Sigh... back to school Monday for my 11 year old twinsies. It's been fun having my play mates with me this week!

Here are the little Easter cards for the kids and hubbies Easter baskets...

Aren't these bunnies the cutest?! They are from the I Love Easter stamp set. I got them from the Red Rubber Designs store. They release new stamps every Thursday and you get a gift with every purchase!

Have a joyful day!

Baby Blessings!

With Spring around the corner you can be sure to need a few baby cards! I realized I didn't have any in my stash so I thought I'd make one today. I also have a cute stamp set from Red Rubber Designs that I wanted to use again. It's called Teddy Bear Tea Party.

My Red Rubber Designs DT friend, Paula-Kay Bourland  put together a really great paper piecing tutorial last month using this stamp set. I've wanted to paper piece one of these little bears since I saw Paula's tutorial. I've used the Catelynn Patterned Cardstock Collection  for this card.

The Red Rubber Designs Blog has a lot of great free paper crafting tutorials... go check them out!

Happy First Birthday!

Happy First Birthday Red Rubber Designs!

It has certainly been an exciting first year at Red Rubber Designs! Today is the first birthday of the Red Rubber Designs online store.

It's been a pleasure to be a member of their very first design team. I was so pleased to have served 2 terms with these design team members. They have been a group of  lovely , talented ladies. Pam, the owner of  Red Rubber designs is such an awesome lady to work with and so kind and generous. (Thanks Pam!)

Today I want to share my favorite Red Rubber Designs creations from the past year...

One of my favorites from my Red Rubber Designs creations this year:

I swooned over this card featuring the cracked glass technique. I've seen cards using smaller focal point pieces using the technique...but this is truly beautiful!

Kate would probably not choose this as her favorite... but I loved how she took a cutsie stamp and used her magical mixed media talent to gave it a wonderful, vintage look.

I think I loved Louise's scrapbook pages most this year. I love everything about this page... color, design and of course those fabulous flowers!

Next up is our Copic coloring expert! This is one of Paula-Kay's more recent cards ... lovely in every way! But she also has scrapbook pages, creative projects using tumbled marble coasters, candles and so much more that I enjoyed this year.

KC's projects were fun because she is all about the glitter and bling... and her sweet personality shined as well. I most loved her jewelry.

I hope you can stop by the Red Rubber Designs blog and wish Pam a Happy Birthday for the store and check out some great free tutorials while you're there!

Konnichiwa Thank You

I have another cutie from the Konnichiwa stamp set today. I decided to do a clean and simple design so she could shine. The Konnichiwa stamp set can be found in the Red Rubber Designs store.

The Neenah Ivory 110# weight card stock from the PaperTemptress store took my alcohol markers so smoothly. It also made a nice neutral for these pretty little stamped fans.

The green apple and wild cherry card stock I used are from the Pop Tones package  from the PaperTemptress store. I've enjoyed the Pop Tones package because I got a multitude of colors in the 100# weight card stock I like to use.

I'm also a color junkie, so the brighter the better! Have a joyful day...

Konnichiwa Hello

Today I have a card to match the Konnichiwa Stamped Gift Box Topper tutorial I have over at the Red Rubber Designs blog.

I used the Konnichiwa stamp set and the Rustic Chic Paper Pack from the Red Rubber Designs  store.

And here's another peek at my Konnichiwa Stamped Gift Box Topper tutorial... you can download it for free at the Red Rubber Designs blog.

These little Asian beauties are so much fun to play with... wouldn't they make cute paper dolls?!

Enjoy the Moment!

Just a quick little sparkly number made with card stocks from the PaperTemptress store. And considering I only had a few moments to make this card, I chose paper and bling that would come together quickly, yet still make a nice girly, girl card.

This is a stamp from the American Art Crafts line... unfortunately it's discontinued, but I just love to use it!

I have totally enjoyed using the card stock from the Mica/Metallic collection. Look at these colors... from gorgeous jewel tones to soft and pretty pastels. Fun!

Go check out the cool stuff at the PaperTemptress store!
